Welcome to our nonlinear illustrated history of dentistry!

We have spent a considerable amount of time amassing a collection of illustrations, pictures, and books that pertain to the field of dentistry and its evolution throughout history.

Below, you will find three slideshows that contain a selection of some of our favourites. While some of the images may be familiar due to their age, others may be entirely new to you.

These pictures come from all over the globe and represent a diverse range of subjects. Many of them are historical, and some may seem bizarre or peculiar by today's standards. It is fascinating to note that many of the images showcase a sense of humour within the world of dentistry.

The third slideshow is a tribute to Pierre Fauchard, the father of modern dentistry, who published his influential book, "The Surgeon Dentist, a Treatise on Teeth," in 1723. This book was the first to outline a comprehensive system for caring for and treating teeth. We have included several illustrated pages from this historic text for your enjoyment.
